Belgian loafers are made inside-out: the upper is sewn to the sole with the seams facing inward, then turned. The result is a shoe with no welt, no visible stitching and almost no weight – 190g in a US 9.
The trade-off is that a turned shoe cannot be resolved. It is made to be worn lightly, and it is the most elegant thing in the collection.
